1. PATENT EXECUTIVE (Computer Science/IT/Computer Engineering/Telecommunications Engineering)
Responsibilities:
- Manage the prosecution of patent applications and draft submissions/arguments in response to patent office actions
- Conduct search and analysis of patent documents to determine patentability of inventions relating to the field of Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology or Telecommunications Engineering (basic training will be provided)
- Draft patent descriptions relating to the above-mentioned fields
- Provide consultancy services to clients regarding patent rights in Malaysia, in particular on patents, simple patents, trade secrets, patentability opinions, FTO analysis and related patent advisory matters
- Provide patent infringement analysis and preliminary infringement advice before the work is sent to Litigation Counsels (should there be a dispute in Court)
- Contribute articles and speak at seminars to increase awareness of IP and to educate the public
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Information Technology/Telecommunications Engineering with above average academic results from reputable universities
- Preferably a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in the Intellectual Property field with experience in conducting patent searches and drafting patent specifications, and filing patent applications
- Excellent command of English
- Good conceptual, analytical and reasoning skills
- Able to articulate points in a clear and unambiguous manner
- Attentive to minute details
- Practice excellent work ethics and possess good interpersonal skills
- Able to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
- Fun to work with, considerate of others’ needs and embraces lifelong learning
- Able to work independently
2. PATENT EXECUTIVE (Mechatronics/Mechanical & Electrical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering)
Responsibilities:
- Manage the prosecution of patent applications and draft submissions/arguments in response to patent office actions
- Conduct search and analysis of patent documents to determine patentability of inventions relating to the field of Mechatronics/Mechanical & Electrical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering
- Draft patent descriptions relating to the field of Mechatronics/Mechanical & Electrical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering
Requirements:
- Possess at least a Bachelor Degree in Mechatronics/Mechanical & Electrical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering or any interrelated discipline
- Excellent command of English
- Good conceptual, analytical and reasoning skills
- Able to articulate points in a clear and unambiguous manner
- Able to prepare detailed engineering drawings
- Attentive to minute details
- Practice excellent work ethics and possess good interpersonal skills
- Able to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
- Fun to work with, considerate of others’ needs and embraces lifelong learning
- Able to work independently
- Training will be provided
3. TRADEMARK MANAGER
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee day-to-day operations in Trademarks and Industrial Designs Department
- Manage, lead, mentor and grow team members in the department
- Ensure all the prosecution for trademark and industrial design applications are handled in a professional and timely manner
- Ensure all team members are trained well
- Providing consultancy services to clients in Intellectual Property rights, in particular on trademark, trade secrets, copyright and industrial design rights and other IP related matters.
Requirements:
- Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in either Law with above average academic results from reputable universities or any interrelated discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IP
- Fluent in written and spoken English (essential)
- Good conceptual, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to articulate points in a clear and unambiguous manner
- Attentive to details
- Practice excellent work ethics and possess good interpersonal skills
- Able to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
- Fun to work with, considerate of others’ needs and embraces lifelong learning
- Able to work independently
4. GENERAL CLERK / PARALEGAL
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with departmental work
- Prepare and forward documents to clients and relevant authorities, updating status of applications, drafting simple letters, corresponding via e-mail and ensuring that all deadlines are met.
Requirements:
- Professional Certificate or Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Secretarial Courses or equivalent
- Candidates should have a good command of the English language
- Good computer skills and literate in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Good interpersonal skills and able to work independently
- Preferable Malaysian candidates
- Experience is not essential
- Training will be provided
