Megha graduated with a B.Eng. (Hons) in Computer Science and Masters in Intellectual Property (IP) Law. Immersing herself in the world of IP, she has had several years of experience at a well-established IP firm in India where she developed her expertise in software patent drafting and prosecution.
At KASS, she puts to good use her wide range of expertise, which includes patent drafting and prosecution for local and international patent applications, audits, reinstatement, preparing pre-grant opposition representations and third-party observations, patentability searches and opinions including freedom-to-operate, validity, infringement and market landscape, and sound knowledge of patent laws pertaining to the APAC, the United States and European region.
She is also well versed with foreign filing procedures via the PCT and Paris convention route. She advises clients on patent strategies and effective use of international programmes such as GPPH, PPH and ASPEC. She has worked with individual inventors, start-up companies, educational institutions, and major domestic and international companies.
She successfully passed the Indian and Malaysian patent agent examination and has spoken at several seminars on the awareness of patents in the computer science field. Megha has provided guidance and key inputs to stakeholders across various levels on various IP related matters via seminars and workshops conducted across various educational institutes and forums.
