KUALA LUMPUR – An established Intellectual Property (IP) firm based in Malaysia – KASS International Sdn Bhd – has announced a strategic expansion into the regional market with the opening of its new office in Singapore.
The Singapore office will act as a regional hub to oversee and co-ordinate operations in the South East Asian region, supporting KASS International’s existing offices in Kuala Lumpur and Penang. The office will reduce time and costs for handling of IP-related issues, as there will be a single agent handling all cases instead of multiple agents across different geographies.
SMALL and medium enterprises should acquire intellectual property (IP) rights for their products before they spend money on marketing and promotion.
IP lawyer P.Kandiah said SME owners should file IP rights for their products or design before they expose them to the public. In fact, the law requires it.
He said many SMEs have lost exclusive rights for their products or processes because they were not aware of IP rights.
